Regent Honeyeater Tree Planting at Capertee
Message from Tiffany Mason - organiser.
Tiff's contact numbers are in the attached documents.
Organisation of the first Capertee Valley tree planting for 2009 is well under way. The weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of May has been set aside, the ground ripped and the rain is falling (as I type)! All we need now are willing planters to get the seedlings into the ground.
The August tree-planting weekend last year was another great success with about 60 brave folk planting 2,700 trees in very trying conditions: bleak weather, three sites to traipse between and no cappuccino van in sight. Watering was finished by about 5 PM Saturday by which time everyone was keen to escape the cold wind and get into the schnapps (or non-alcoholic equivalent).
In May we will be planting another 3,000 trees and shrubs.
To register your interest, and allow us to plan accommodation etc., could you please fill in the enclosed form and return it to me as early as possible, particularly if you want to book accommodation. Please note that we may not be able to use all accommodation venues usually available to us. If you are coming with friends, can you let me know early so I can arrange your accommodation. This may not be possible once I have started allocating individuals to beds.
